With inspirations from the artistic and cultural exchanges, audience not only can see 10 different expressions of love and celebration of 2010 Winter Olympics values, but also experience an adventure in the glowing constellation of lights at nights. A stroll down on Granville St, Downtown, it’s hard not to notice public art lanterns such as Bruce Voyce’s creation. Confusion Fusion was inspired by the elaborate temples and religious processions of Taiwan. The lantern celebrates the spirit of the Taiwanese people and their love of mythology, ritual and craft while demonstrates his love for the planet by using what he calls “recycled, repurposed and reconfigured” materials, such as pop bottles from Vancouver. Artist Lu Ping-Cheng expresses love with a 300cm tall Umbilical Cord connecting Taiwan and Canada, symbolizing the nurturing the relationship by sharing landscape, folklore and cultural imagery. Come to see how different interpretations of love shine with Olympics spirits.
